Judith Christ was born in Mainz and studied singing at the Peter Cornelius Conservatory under the supervision of Sead Buljubasic. She completed her education with a distinction as an officially recognized opera and concert singer. A postgraduate course in professional opera lead her between 1996 and 2001 to the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt/Main. There she received her diploma in the class of Paula Page and Hedwig Faßbender. Thereafter she completed master classes under the guidance of William Cochram, Elio Battaglia and Julia Hamari, to name a few.
The Mezzosoprano singer celebrated her first stage appearances at the Frankfurt Opera House where she made her debut as "The third noble orphan" in R.Straus`Rosenkavalier. Futher engagements has taken her to the "Opera Classica" Festival, the Koblenz Theatre, State Theatres Wiesbaden and Mainz.
Here she had the opportunity to work with stage directors like Nicolas Brieger, Sandra Leupold, Christof Loy, David Mouchtar-Samorai, Arila Siegert, Tilman Knabe, Christof Nel and Katharina Wagner. She gained important musical impulse from Catherine Rückwardt, Paolo Carignani, Enrico Delamboye,Toyshiyuki Kamioka and Hermann Bäumer.
Her repertoire includes roles such as "Erda" ("Das Rheingold", "Siegfried"), "The voice from on high" ("Parsifal"), "First Norn" ("Götterdämmerung"), "Third Lady" ("Die Zauberföte"), "Mother Gertrud" and "The Witch" ("Hansel and Gretel"), "Mrs.Reich" ("The merry Wives of Windsor), "Mercedes" ("Carmen"), "Ludmila" ("The Bartered Bride"), "Mamma Lucia" ("Cavalleria Rusticana") and "Flora" ("La Traviata").
Among the highlights of her career Judith Christ was singing "Aunt Berta" in Burhard`s "Fireworks" at the State Theatre Wiesbaden, "Public Opinion" in Offenbach`s "Orpheus in the Underwolrd" at the Theatre Koblenz, as well as at the State Theatre Mainz as "Marcellina" in Mozart`s "The Marriage of Figro" and "The third maid of honor" in Henze`s "The Prince of Homburg".
In 2013 Judith Christ was bestowed the second prize, after a first prize was not awared, in the international ArtOprea singing competition in Frankfurt/Main.
In spring 2014 she performed the role of "Mrs.Sedley" in Britten`s "Peter Grimes" on the stages of Gera/Altenburg, where she then became part of the ensemble and sang roles of "Annina" ("Rosenkavalier"), "Old Burya" ("Jenufa") and "Lady Beaconsfield" ("Jekyll&Hyde").
In spring 2015 the Mezzosoprano Singer repeated the role of "Mrs.Sedley" at the Koblenz Theatre. In june 2015 she made her debut as "Ulrica" in Verdi`s "Ballo in mascherea" at the Volkstheater Rostock.
At the Dortmund Theater, you can experience Mrs. Christ in spring 2016 performing the role "Auntie" in "Peter Grimes". She will return at the Dortmund Theater in November 2017, singing the role "Filipjewna" in "Eugen Onegin".
In january 2018 the Mezzosoprano Singer will performe for the first time at the Theater Nordhausen. There she will sing the role "Madame Croissy" in "Dialogues de Carmelites".
At the Theater Vorpommern, Judith Christ performed the role of „Azucena“ in „Il Trovatore“ and in August 2020 she sang there the Solopart of „Lied von der Erde“ by G.Mahler
